I'm thinking to improve my audio system. Now i have a Pulsar II card and I would like to have some better compression/eqs/mastering plugins.
I just look to TCPowercore and UAD card and it seems pretty cool about it. Btw i was thinking that now i really need a good compressor and a good mastering plugins first of all...
If someone have tried it... It's better to purchase Vinco and Optimaster for my Pulsar or buying an additional card like TCPowercore?
How is, for example, the TC X3 compared with Optimaster? It should a good thing to wait to have some more money to invest on a TCPowercore or it's better to buy a couple of Pulsar plugins?
Someone who has both should advice me?
Thanx a lot in advance for any reply.
Gab
Little advice needed ;)
Hi Gab
I am thinking in the same way. I was going to invest in an other Pulsar, Vinco and some timeworks EQ. But due to CWs problems and comparing costs, I think I am going to get the new UAD-1 studio package. CWs problems are well discussed on this forum but the lack of support from CW in the past is a factor in my choice.
BTW Optimaster is FANTASTIC

I know it tends to be a dirty word around here but you may want to look into some "native" plugins. If you want some incredible sounding dynamic plugins, the Waves gold bundle is essential. While they are a bit pricey, I would put them up against any DSP based plugin(TC,Mackie,TDM,even our beloved SFP).This bundle also includes other time based effects (ie verbs) which are also pretty good. Oddly enough the native versions of the Waves GB sound better than the TDM versions since they only run at 24bit & native is 32bit. See if Waves offers any Demos. Good luck!
