Do you know how many channels the Pulsar 2 "classic" TDIF connector can handle?
I've only used the 16 channels of ADAT until now
Pulsar 2 TDIF: how many channels?

What is "TDIF", anyway? I've seen it on stuff but I don't know what it is.

It's a multichannel digital connection which is not optical, it uses a multi-core of some kind with a chunky multipin connector. It possibly has potentially less jitter than ADAT optical connections but I'm not 100% sure about this. I'm not entirely sure how it handles sync either.
It's used mostly in Tascam gear, but there are other products that support it by, for example RME and Soundscape, and many digital mixers have it as an I/O option.

Just a note about the RME TDIF i/o. From what I can tell, the TDIF signal going into the RME is converted internally to an ADAT light-pipe signal. So if you're interested in hearing whether copper (i.e. TDIF) sounds better than plastic (i.e. ADAT) for transferring 8 channels into a computer, the RME may not give you a definitive answer.

Hello Mano1
I have a Tascam Digital mixer who has several TDIF interfaces for I/O, I've connected it to my pulsar cards using the IF-TAD interface that converts it to Lightpipe and I've been able to use it along SFP, so it's a great thing to be able to use my mixer's DSP for EQ and EFX on input, and freeing more CW DSP for other things.

Hopes this helps.
