Just checked out the demo this weekend. Wow! I'm surprised people aren't turning somersalts here. That module is amazing!
I'll be ponying up the $$$ later this week. It's definitely on my "must have" list now. I thought the "Pro One" was great. But trust me folks, check this one out too.
By the way, I see the real keyboard is for sale on Ebay right now in the US

I can't wait to see what these guys come up with next... Hmmm... I can't even guess. Maybe they'll work a deal with Waldorf and get us a PPG or Xt plugin. Seems like they have covered a lot of other territory already.
Nice job guys. Hats off.

indeed it is, but with all that Wavelength, Zarg and Adern stuff and the ProOne and Mini in mind (or on disk) you get somewhat used to quality. On 2003-12-22 03:16, ScofieldKid wrote:

As a VSTI it would be mind-blowing, here it's just fulfilling expectations

recently a real Odyssey sold on German eBay for about 700 €, but the dude had so much negative feedback that it was easy to let it pass. Otherwise it would have been hard to withstand...
cheers, Tom

Hey guys, the quality of those creamware synths are really good, but who needs 30 or more synths?
what i would like to see is enhanced xtc modus (that we can use older synths (modular) just like we can do it with the fx rack fo xtc), or some cool effects like a really, really good reverb, or a bunch of really cool analog delays, and really good eqs (!) and a compressor (ok vinco is cool).
if nothings happend that way in the next half year i will leave the creamware platform because on other platfroms you have less plugins but the quality is superior to creamware especially the effects.(remember powercore, etc.).
ok maybe i´ll sell just one of my two pulsars.
and look at the price. creamware isn´t cheap enough.
those synthbundles are ridiculos because i don´t need all that shit.

I've used the Powercore (firewire version) and the UAD-1, and I can say 100% that neither of these platforms is better than the Creamware one. The sound they offer is just *different* (very clinical-sounding.. I personally don't think they get near the warmth of Creamware stuff). In terms of FX, the CW Masterverb is just as usable as the TC MegaReverb, and Vinco, CompressorX and Impressor are really great compressors. If you think you are going to get everything you ever dreamed of with ONE platform, then you are in for a nasty shock.
Just another perspective from someone who has used all the systems.
peace

ok that´s a point.
i didn´t have the chance to compare those cards against each other.
i have to believe. it makes me feel better about my creamware cards.
but just a little bit.
an the impressor is very nice thats true.
but the reverbs cannot compete to the native stuff i think.
so they should improve the quality of effects than release lot´s of vintage synths.
there´s enough vintage emulations on the market which are good quality either (NI, Arturia,...)
and they have to enhance the xtc mode. it´s a shame that we cannot use these beautiful older third party utilties in the xtc mode.

Don't forget 3rd party devices! The Timeworks EQ is very good, and SpaceF is working on an analog delay (and I think Celmo already had one). And yes, Vinco is very cool!or some cool effects like a really, really good reverb, or a bunch of really cool analog delays, and really good eqs (!) and a compressor (ok vinco is cool).

Yep ! it's great !!
A massive amount of presets and some not really belonging to a VA !
What is stunning is how very small tweaks can have deep effects, you must get used to it ...
I wonder ... could it be sounding better than the original given this awesome sound quality ?
Can an owner of the real thing answer this ?
However I prefer my recently purchased Minimax, 2 very different beasts though ...
If CW go on cloning ( should I bet ? ) I'd like though more features that weren't in the originals ( okay they are some but not enough for my taste )
What if the lfo of Prodyssey went into audio range, has more waveforms, a switch to choose the different filters the Odysseys had ...
Maybe colors schemes to indicate : still classic / off road , it could please the purists and it could also please those who think : and what if they added this ?
Poor Gmedia, I'll wait in case a Pro Oscar is in the works !

there is a thread with a rather pronounced discussion about purity against (necessory?) compromises, it was about the Prodyssey and the Oddity. On 2003-12-22 17:12, decimator wrote:

Hi, I have Prodissey and it sound very good an nothing to compare with "light" and very poor sound of native Vsti's. I own a lot of vsti's and i prefer CW synths and my triton LE for produce very good and dept sounds for my songs.
Minimax, Prodissey, Proone ( my next buy), Etc. sound like real gear but more quality effects like Vinco is a great idea.

One of the beauties of XTC mode is that it allows you to use your Pulsar devices with other dsp or native plug-ins. The way I see it, let Creamware keep pushing the boundaries with the things they really shine at - the instruments - & leave the effects to the other guys. I've gotten over not being able to use the older synths, too. The new ones have just left them way too far behind in quality.
I'm still trying to find the time to test Prodyssey against Oddity & our real Odyssey.
