I used to do most of my mixing in Cubase, but have been playing around with bouncing out the cubase busses into SFP so I can use the (i think) better sounding EQ's and effects. Is this what most people do, and is it hard to automate the SFP 2448 mixer?

thanks,

in the end I bounce every track, specially the VSTi tracks, but I never automate the mixer (so far).

I do all my mixing in SFP also but I've been using tripleDAT for my recording program.

Just bought Sonar so no telling what I'll end up doing in the future. But I suppose I'll continue to do it the same way now that I can use ASIO as my interface to SFP.

I've never automated mixer functions.

i mox in xtc mode so i can use and automate sfp plugs in the logic mixer.i have automated the sfp mixer.you record the midi info in your sequencer.setting up the controllers is easy but time consuming.(there's a rumour that sfp will soon support mackie control)

Is Mackie control a standard, or does it just allow you to use that mackie hardware thing as a physical mixer interface?

(My Event EZBus allows tactile control of Cubase and I guess SFP too if I program in all the sliders...)

cheers,

mackie control support makes the mackie control the physical surface for sfp mixers and plugs.
