some of you already know Garritan Personal Orchestra

http://www.garritan.com

form today there are some mp3 demo for download. what do you think about them?

for me, 249$ for a complete orchestra (considering that akai advanced orchestra costs 2 times more and don't have piano, organ, harpsicord and harp) is a bargain...

i think i will buy it... and sell my EMU ultra Proteus! (do you want it, by chance?)

It's really good value for the price. The strings section may sound a bit cheesy compared to the full garritan strings... and I'm not too sure about its articulations. It'll be good to suplliment this library with garritan strings or some other strings specific library. GPO's still way beyond my Triton's crap tho!

Finally, an easy way to get into symphonic sample libraries!

i just listened to the demos
they are really impressive, i think that the quality/price ratio is outstading.
the only mp3 that did not satisfact my ears was the beethoven's 5th symphony: but i think that it's the sequencing itself that's not very good. expecially the intro sound a bit false...
but listening to the other demo is really a pleasure!
also, even if i have not yet understood what are the basic concepts, controls, articulations and possibility the library offers, i think the realism you can obtain is exceptional (for 250$!)

I agree with Bosone about the Beethoven Demo. The sequencing is piss-poor.

This is a great package. I am going to buy this for sure!
Are we listening?..

heh, saw you on the garritan forum, bosone.
I'm on P4-2.0ghz 512mb but it seems like I'm better off with 1gb ram. Oh well, ram's damn cheap these days so I might as well get one.

Rumour has it that the release date is around end of November. er, atleast that's what the guys at the garritan forum are saying.

My guess is that they may have to co-ordinate that with the release of Kontakt 1.5 from NI. And NI are *always* late.
