I feel your pain. Sorry to hear of your problems.

Not that this helps but I waited two weeks for a domain name transfer which ultimately never went through. I ended up cancelling the transfer request. It seems almost ridiculous that it should take over two weeks to transfer ownership of a domain name. It's not even an issue of mailing a piece of paper. It's a few keystrokes on someone's desktop PC.

Sorry.. had to share my pain. It's been one of those days.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck getting your Luna board fixed. I haven't had to get any CW product repaired so I guess I consider myself lucky. In fact, I don't recall reading too many stories about defective CW products. I might go so far as to suggest their hardware quality is probably actually very good. Wish I could say the same about other companies' products.

ProTools? Not for me. No thanks. RME products were highly praised here before. I know there are working solutions out there and actually, I think you should keep trying to get the Luna issue resolved. Luna is a good product. There aren't many products like it in that class for that price.

Anyone else feel differently?

My Luna card reached Germany on 20/8. For some that may not be long. I have no idea how long again I would have to wait. I have read where it took months to get cards repaired and returned. That is what I am afraid of and am trying to avoid. The first card I bought which is about two years old is still working good. That is why I bought the second one about a year later, this is the one that broke. It never fell or was removed from the day I installed it in my PC.
On the 4th of September I was told that the card would be finished the next week.

at the shop where i work is another business that is the factory warranty center for yamaha.they take 3-4 weeks to fix anything.repairs are a problem with all electronics.i truly hope you get your card back soon.it is unfortunate that you got a bad one(there's always one with every product made....),but i really don't think that there is much to be done about it,nor do i think that anywhere else would be any better(if you were unlucky enough to find the bad one).my prayers go forward that you will receive your card back SOON!

Got my card back. It was repaired and is working perfectly. From the Caribbean to Germany and back in approximately 2 months. That's excellent service.

I just shipped my Scope/SP card to Creamware for repair today :sad:
If I'll have to wait two months before it gets back, Creamware will have recieved a invoice for a ProTools|HD 2 Accel and two Noah EX's WAY before then... :wink:

Two months does seem excessive until you stop to consider the actual ship time between countries.

Just curious, are there any horror stories associated with mailing or shipping parcels within the European countries? Is it generally risk-free or is it a crapshoot like in Mexico? I've mailed various smaller parcels over to England and Germany from the US and it didn't seem like it took too long.

I know down in Mexico it's horrid. My wife sends Christmas cards in October because it usually takes a couple of months just to receive a letter or card down there (assuming they receive it at all).

Local repair shops here in the Chicago area quote 4-6 weeks for simple repairs. And that's right down the street from me.

I use UPS Express.
They garanty that Creamware has the card before noon the next day.
(When shipping from Denmark to Germany.)

I shipped my card by regular postal mail which is the slowest mailing system in the World. It was returned by the same service. If I had shipped it UPS or Fedex, paid for return the time would have been much shorter. That is why 2 months is very very good indeed. I had posted items for repair before to companies in the US by UPS and it took about the same time. I had a Zoom MRS 1044 repaired in the US also and it was posted to the wrong address by the company.

well, some impressions from Germany:
obviously due to the heavy increase of eBay transfers there are frequent openings of letters which look valueable, like 'personal delivery' etc. This happens inside the postal service as those letters are closed again after the content been taken, which makes it very difficult to proof the fraud.

In areas of the city with a majority of wealthy inhabitants public boxes for outgoing mail are systematically emptied in the hope someone sends cash in a letter.

When we used Apple packages to send service parts those were frequently opened to peek inside. Since they never found a Mac the stuff always arrived...

If I have something valuable to send, I always reuse some shabby envelope, hand-written and not even completely closed :grin:
