It's worth upgrading just for that.

Also though does anyone think the user-definable input and output busses will help bouncing tracks through SFP effects?

Also what seems really sweet is the real time bounce down.

I'm convinced and will upgrade in a few months when I've saved.

I tried to understand the meaning of those SX 2 features, too. It's not clearly stated if that's the point we think it is. The guys at our national Steinberg dealer don't know, either. Does anyone can say if the new i/o routing is capable of such things? I mean inserting asio i/o in a SX channel???

Just in this moment got my SX2: routing, yes you can. at least as sends.
Just add an FX send channel, you can assign the output to any ASIO IN by creating an new buss in VST theconnections panel. Doing so, you can use send1 in the cubase mixer for ,let´s say, masterverb pro.The add another buss for the return from SFP. The buss shows up as a channel in the vst mixer. VOILA: xtc without xtc mode in SFP.

but i don´t think this will work for bouncing.

Gonna go and check this , inserts and the PDC now.....

Logic Platinum, only... grrrrrr.

In fact I'm more interested in getting something like aux in ProTools (than bouncing): having an outboard signal without rec enable a track.

BTW there is a feature to offline or realtime bouncing in my copy of Logic (plain audio, 6.0.1). Does it have any sense while you can't have any track rec enable while bouncing?

The FX send method should work for real time bounce downs shouldn't it? Is there any difference between a a real time export and simply recording the output from the master channel?

I'm a little miffed about the jump to SX 2.0. Almost seems like this is just SX 1.5 with a $150 price tag. I'm not really fooled by the graphics.

Well, you should be able to do this in any version of logic since 5.0 using an audio object set to an 'AUX' channel, and not to audio.

That's the role of those 'AUX', play thing without rec enable them, and they'll be included in the bounce.

Hope this help

Marcus, I don't get it.......

In the Logic help I read:

REALTIME: Creates the bounced file in real-time. Use it whenever you wish to bounce audio and audio instrument tracks plus external midi sound sources that are routed into the Logic Mixer via (live) input objests.

What the F*** are the "live objects"? When I record enable an audio track and choose the 'realtime' bounce - the track deactivates back  The same in offline bounce... No difference.

You suggest to route the audio input to aux - no way - auxes are only active if I have a multi output audioinstrument (VSTI) in my project

Create a new audio object directly from logic menu, double click on the object created. It should open and look like an empty channel with nothing inside (no fader or nothing), then assign it's channel (from the left tool panel) to an empty aux channel, then select the input to any asio input you got.

You can use this channel to send anything from SFP the logic that way, with no need to record enable an audio track, this is not an audio track, it's an AUX...

It's working i assure you, try it  Hope i'm enough clear in trying to explain, but i'm sure you'll get it anyway.

People over on the Sonar mailing list are wondering if Steinberg will sue Cakewalk for making Sonar 3 look like Cubase; but if Cubase SX looks like SFP, maybe CreamWare will sue everybody!!

Marcus - my observations:

1. AUX input panel accepts only the VSTi additional outs (ie when a VSTi is multi output)
2. The Audio Object - CHA set to input stereo (corresponding to sfp asio setting) doesn't do ANYTHING.

Now I'm suspicious if the CW ASIO driver is fu***d up in this matter? I understand the audio object set to input stereo or mono should work just as it is (perhaps it's the mysterious live input as read in Logic manual??? I don't know but it doesn't work. So the realtime bounce is nothing else but an empty wish in Logic Audio. Sad. Pityful....

Nope. Thank you, Marcus for the pictures. I did exactly what you suggested but in the dropdown menu only the inputs from additional instrument inputs show  No phisical ASIO inputs to select  Tonight I'll post a picture to show you that ...
