will my new luna 2 be ok for.....?
Synths? im interested in mostly U know 007 and the minimax.
im just wating on delevry of my new card and wondered if it will be ok?
im a bit worried now after reading a few posts here about how it wont be able to run them.
Will i be diapointed in the card and throw the system out of the window? I got this card rather that the pulsar duw to my very tight budgit.... what do u reakon??

If it is synths you are into, then you will soon want (need) to expand your system. I started with a Luna-card myself - 8 months later I bought a used XTC-card, so now I have 9 DSP which is enough for me in most cases.
Maybe you should check out Ebay, there usually is a Pulsar for sale at descent prices.
Anyways good luck with your new card, it has a lot of interesting possibilities, but it might take a while to realize it and to fully understand it's capabilities.

I said so, as well! Petal, me and many others started with just Luna II (who needs those dosens of synts and fx available?) but after a week or so we wanted 3 scopes, hehe. UKnow 007 is not that DSP hungry so you will enjoy it with your Luna. Minimax? I think it demands more power and you won't be dissappointed

yes the Uknow 007 does not come with the luna card, but i was thinking of getting it at a later date.
the only reason i was going to get the luna card was to play the odd synth.Im happy with my cubase setup and have various hardware synths in my setup, i was going to buy a secondhand Juno 106 but right at the last minute i read up on the creamware platform and decided to go with that option purly becouse the luna was the same price as a juno and my reaction was to go with the card and be able to do that little bit more for my money...Do u think i did the right thing??wot u reakon?...i hope so

Yes I think you did the right thing, well almost - You should have taken the Pulsar2 from the start
I see that you are used to work with hardware synth, so there should be no problem getting used to work with the CW-stuff, you work with it the same wat as with hardware, meaning recording the result and not rendering og bouncing a miditrack of the softwaresynth, which seems to be the hardwst thing to understand for all those nativepeople.
One thing though, what motherboard are you using? There are problems with some AMD-chipsets combined with CW-cards, but there are also ways around it.

yes, i tend to 'record' the hardware synths into cubase rather than 'mixdown' a vsti to audio, altho i do somtimes do that to
so, am i right in thinking i just load a synth , select an audio track in cubase and record? just like the real thing? The reason i went for the luna is becouse i have limited funds like i said so reather than the juno i went for the luna 11 ... i could always upgrade at a later stage so i guess i did the right thing

well, all im looking to do right now is to play a few odd creamware synths into cubase and record them, and also record my hardware synths into cubase also better than im doing now. im not realy into (not just yet anyway) lots of fx and mixers all over the place as i like to work the way i do now. so what u guys think?
also guys, a quick question about how i set my gear up... i have all my hardware synths going into my phonic mixer. should i then come out the mixer and into the card, then the output of the card into my powerd monitors OR back into the desk with the monitors coming from the mixer also?
as it stands at tho mo i have all my synths grouped and the the group is outputed to the input of my exicting card. i have the card then back into the mixer then out to the speakers. im not sure the best way to set up my new luna...

i route as follows, (which has worked like a charm for me):
hardware mixer "main out" -> Luna IN
Luna OUT -> hardware mixer "tape in"
hardware mixer "ctrl room out" -> speakers
there's a small button on my behringer that says "2tk to ctrl room" which has to be pressed.
this setup obviously calls for "tape in" or "2 track in" as well as "control room out".
if your phonic has it, there you go!
good luck!
