I am planning to connect the Pulsar 1
with my Pulsar 2 on the same machine via STDM? I have hear experience from another member of PLANETZ that after connect Pilsar I, Pulsar II and Pulsar XT together in same PC, he could not manage it. If he left in the machine the Pulsar 2 with the XTC,
everything was fine. If he left the Pulsar 1 alone, again everything fine.
When all the 3 together, he had all the time PCI overflows and other error
messages. So, finally he gave up trying, and left the 2 newer cards in his DAW
and the Pulsar 1 in his old PC.

In the PlanetZ some people told him that that the newer cards are not 100% compatible with the older cards when you
connect 3 together. He dont know if this is true when I will try to connect only 2
cards. Pulsar 1 and Pulsar 2 only.

Anybody is using Pulsar 1 and Pulsar 2 in the same mashine without any problems? A new card with an old card in the same machine, in order to be sure.

Can you use I/O from both cards simultaneously?

I am interersted for ADAT I/O and S/PDIF from Pulsar 1 because my Pulsar 2 is with AES/EBU.

I have Pulsar2, Powerpulsar and PowerSampler together in 1 PC and get so many problems with "STDM not attached" "communication error with board1" and several other messages but they are intermitant. Sometimes when I boot up it works fine, other times it's a pain.

Yes this is the problem I had.
Did you do a fresh install?
Took the boards out and put them in one by one and everything seems ok so far.

You can change quite some things to help STDM: which card is used for ASIO, where you connect patchbays, on which card u load the mixer, in which order the cards are in the pci slots... All this influences how much traffic the STDM will have to handle.

I used to have these problems when I had one Pulsar2 and 2 Pulsar1: one STDM wasn't enough. By changing where the ADAT sampler and patchbay was connected at that time, and setting up mixers accordingly, I solved some of these problems.

Hey Atomic
How do you load ASIO on one card and say the mixer on the other.
Thx!

ASIO is determined by the master card. The one showing first in DSP meter.

Mixers are loaded to the card they're [optionally] locked to in SFP. This is possible on Micromixer, Dynamixer and STM2448.
