Will DDR make save/load times faster with SFP?

A place to talk about whatever Scope music/gear related stuff you want.

I am considering to change from SDRAM (PC133) to DDR (I have a Combo Mobo that can run either SDRAM or DDR)..
But in what way wlll this improve my SFP performance?
Better Save/load times? (This I would like)

or?

In a nutshell, yes.

Other factors do play a role here as well, but faster and more ram is *always* better.

For save times DDR would help (as it implies the whole bus is faster) but if you have a slow harddrive attached then that might be a good bottleneck to eliminate as well.

I do believe that the bottleneck for load times is the loading of dsp code onto the Sharcs (rather than loading the Sfp.exe app into main memory). Plead with Creamware that their pci-X version use one of the newer/faster variants (with larger pools of dsp memory per chip to avoid the phase problems between chips!)
