Might be another post like this on the forum already, if so, just point me there, thanx
My kind of music is Goa & psychedelic trance theese days, most because I LOVE to work on my Virus synth (tweaking yeah!)..
I have also made music in the genres of techno & Electro (but I usually get bored pretty fast when making it hehe)..
Well, I do sort of progressive house/trance music mostly, sometimes a bit of drum 'n bass or electro stuff, or ambient...
Generally try to get it atmospheric and make a good groove, then the style doesn't really matter to me.
i would like to say rock, both classic and contemporary but i've got this soft spot for the beatles, steve miller and the police/sting so a lot of my music tend to be a bit more melodic and, dare i say, radio-adapted..
let's say i make rock music based on a good feeling rather than aggression.
Well, I'm one of the dinosaurs in this forum. Let's explain: I was born in 1960 and when I was 7, I began to learn classical piano and grew up with church music, too. My elder brothers showed me the great music of the 60s, I like it.
When I was around 15, I made my first experiences with Prog Rock: Yes, Genesis, EL&P, Gentle Giant. With this age, you may have the deepest impressions. They will stay a life long. So I'm a little bit fixed to this (strange) style: long, complex, non-danceable symphonic rock poems.
When I was a boy, I dreamed of building a castle with walls of synths, as some great keyboarders did. Since I have Pulsar and something other, I can fullfill this dream.
So I'm really stupid about contemporary styles and could not explain what is the difference between this and that. Something sounds interesting and I like to listen to it, but I feel a deep antipathy to four-to-the-floor-music.
