Hello to all!

I have some AKAI sample CDs, and I have used SFP in order to copy them to my hard disk for easier and quicker access. I was wondering about 2 things:
1) if instead of SFP, I used, for example, CDXtract, would there be any difference?
2) if instead of having the samples in the AKAI format, I converted them to the STS format, would I benefit in any sense?
Just curious....

Thank you

CDXtract will convert Akai to STS format but doesn't convert the .s samples to .wav
Supposedly the next version (4.1) will correct this.
I think the best conversion to STS/wav sample format is using "copy/paste as sts" in the SFP browser.

Hello!

Thank you for replying. My question is still: what is the benefit of converting the samples in .sts format? Except that you can edit the .wav samples in an editor like WaveLab, is there any other benefit?

Thank you

That's the reason I do it.
