Default Number Of Voices When Loading Synths

Is there any way to change the default number of voices when loading a synth? Currently, synths load with only one voice. I would like to change the default setting for each synth - so different synths open with different number of voices by default.

if i'm not mistaken, you just have to load the synth in SFP, change the voice count to your taste, and save the device.

now that i think of it: was it only in pre SFP times, or can you do it now too? a bit confused... you can do it for sure with old style preset list synths, if you know what i mean...
