I remembered I used to do this trick of using different EQ for LR channels.. but the SFP mixer doesn't do this. I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks for applying non symmetrical EQ, like phasing etc. If there aren't, I'd like to find a way to do this within the mixer. (other than a mod patch) 2 mono eq before the mixer might be an option too.

different EQ for LR channel
there is one for sfp, free, works as insert ad offers more options than the focusrite from which it is inspired.
Drawbacks ? if you look for sound purity and so called transparency, even a symetrical eq introduces phasing.... non symetrical allows a much more precise control....

I think the device is called sf-ProQ 01 and may be found, by chance, on spacef.com , at least the insert version. It seems that it is on the "public betas and free devices", accessible only if you register (but it's free and anonymous).
I prefer to tell you now :
Someone reported a bug using one of the dual mono screen (editing the curve in direct) , but the dev works perfectly using the knobs until i find a way to correct this bug which is still obscur to me (i corrected it on the dual/stereo screen, but on the dual mono Orange curve, it's still a bit difficult to get rid of it).
The only bad point is that this dev is a bit heavier than classic Creamware Eqs, but it includes almost all filters available on the extreme bands, plus phase reverse and a little delay on a channel, and, i don't remember what other options again .....
I point all this because you talk about using 2 mono eqs (on a stereo signal i suppose) and the sf-ProQ adresses this issue, for a heavier usage than 2 mono eqs, but in the same control panel with linking possibilities....
Well, may be you find this useful i don't know.
