This question is aimed to all you guys who have larger DSP-systems. How do you work initially? I am thinking of taking a big step and getting two more Pulsar 2 cards.

Do you have large start-up projects, with reverbs and syntesizers already connected or do you start all over again with each new project?

I have 21 DSP.
My startup project has not gone bigger, although I made some templates that are larger. Large projects are slow as a starter.

Looking forward to read more.

Yep. That's the downside, but I was thinking that maybe that would speed up work when you're making music.

Already make all asio-connections available and connected to the mixer. And always have a couple of busses for: reverb (maybe two of them - one for vocals and one for large effects), distortion, compressor, chorus and so on. That way you could try diffent settings very quick when making music.

[edit: Ganool was faster  ]

same policy here.
In case of forced restarts or testing situations a very small start project like the initial start project is very pleasant.
So I prefer to load the project I'm working on by hand.
But of course I have several 'big' start projects to choose from, like Song Start, Mastering, Optical-In Recording, etc.

The same with Cubase.
As a preference the program starts with my 'empty' auto load song, while I used to start with 'the last song loaded'.
A auto load starter is safer in case of ASIO or (on Mac) OMS or other troubles, Cubase can easier return to default settings.
After years of trying to be smart I today choose for safe and basic
