Sometimes I go reading through…let’s say… 35 to 40 different topics in one day, sometimes even more than that… and of course, after reading them all you almost always want to come back to know the outcome of such and such a thread, to see what Pulsarians have answered into them.

Because of that it’s sometimes difficult to remember where I was and which was the name of these threats I have been reading about… It becomes particularly difficult remembering them when topics or threats are similar in content and title.

I just thought it would be nice to have sort of a “remembering tool” in the Z, visible at all times, in every page. A tool that could tell me where I have been yesterday, or say more precisely, which have been my last 30 threats, so I can come back to them easily.

Sorry about my lack of knowledge regarding databases and all of this… I’m perhaps asking something very difficult to do, I can’t really tell, so please John, tell me if I’m going too far or it’s ok. I think it would be an extremely useful tool to everybody if this could be implemented.

Could you try to use your browser's history function?

It should show your history categorized by site, by day -- so you could go to "Yesterday", click on "planet z", and see a bunch of links.

I realize that's not ideal, but it's no work for me  Adding infrastructure to the site to store each user's recent history would be a bit of an undertaking. Not impossible, but time consuming...

In fact, I completely overlooked at it cos I never used it as a reference tool. It was in my own browser and didn’t even think about it.!

And… what about a little feminine hand that virtually comes out of the screen to caress my hear... gently... while I’m reading? Is it too difficult to build up?

Just realized, something could make this better. I'll see if I can change the title of the webpage when viewing a topic, to the topic title. That way, in your history view, instead of them all saying "Planet Z Forums - View Topic", they'll say "Planet Z Forum Topic - Topic subject title goes here", etc.

That'd make the history more useful. I'll put it on my list.

Cheers,

That's a good idea! These file names can be changed indeed, would be quite handy. I save interesting topics to disk, that will go a lot faster too
