Connecting a Luna 2496

I'm currently in the market for a new soundcard and recently saw a Luna 2496 which caught my attention. I was wondering if it is possible to connect one of these boxes directly into a firewire port of a PC like the Motu 828 or does it need to go via a Luna PCI sound card using the Z-Link?

Need ZLink... It is proprietary to creamware, like firewire on motu is prorietary to motu...

That is correct except that the 828 CAN be connected directly to the Firewire on the computer. It is the bigger MOTU models that require a PCI card.
