In Synthesizer package 1 there is "vectron player". How does it differ from synthesizer Vectron that comes with SCOPE (or is available for purchase)?

Thanks.

The Vectron Player only allows you to play 'read-only' presets which other people have created - the full version of the Vectron synth allows you to create your own patches. This includes creating your own wavetables, either by importing wav's or by drawing them in yourself.

The full version also gives you access to the excellent vector envelope which gives you an amazing amount of control over the sound, including dynamic movements of the joystick, etc.

In the full version, you can also choose which oscillators a patch uses, select and alter the LFO's etc.

The player really only allows you to play other peoples presets.

If you're interested, why not have a look at the manual which is on the CW downloads page <a href="http://www.creamware2.de/cw2/manuals/de ... Manual.pdf" target="_blank">here</a> or download the demo from your CW page.

The Vectron is an amazing synth - I think its curiously under-rated - doesn't get nearly as much as press as it deserves.

You'll find some of my Vectron presets <a href="http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=13&4" target="_blank">here</a>.

You should be able to load these in the Vectron Player.

Hope that helps,
Ben

Just bought VECTRON which is well ... plain fucking amazing !!!

Still asking myself how I could have missed it !!!!

Trouble is : I don't really dig the presets of the VECTRON ( to say the least ) and I can't load the presets of the VECTRON PLAYER ( incompatible ) that are killers !!!

so ... WTF ???

Is there a workaround ???

My God ! Evidence that at least two people on earth own the full Vectron.

It may be a fantastic synth but IMHO 298 euros is a ridiculous price for this unpopular device. It's no wonder hardly anyone uses the thing.

That said, it's interesting to look at the specs: the ability to import your own wav files as oscillator waveforms is a very powerful feature. I'd imagine that it could possibly compete with my beloved Absynth in the soundscape area, but then since I've never heard any experiments with this device, who knows ?

Perhaps CW could consider a "special offer" to generate some interest ? At the very least you'd think CW would release some new patch banks as an incentive - especially since they went to the trouble to make a player presumably to spark interest.

I'am blessed, I'am totally immune to any hype, what sells good or not ...

I may also buy a Yamaha FS1R in the future, you see ...

I just listen to demos and put them on my shopping list if attractive to me, I don't spend my money randomly !!!

It's surely the thing, I'll play the most with Absynth !! but it's different because I try my best not to spend my money twice, as well ...

Concerning the presets, I've been a little hasty maybe ( just bought it yesterday ) the VECTRON PLAYER presets are a mix between those of the " old " VECTRON and well, new ones ; when I'll be easy on VECTRON, I'll will try to recreate the " missing ones "

Now playing with my newly acquired underground device !!

To make underground music !!

That's the plan !!!

If I don’t have the Vectron is just cos I don’t have the money. I think it is the best synthesizer Creamware has created so far. Or better say it’s the one I like most. The possibilities are fantastic and yes, it’s expensive. I would prefer the Vectron instead of the Modular II for instance, I would have no doubt in changing the one for the other…
