Changing pci slot

I've read this on the forum :

"On CUSL2:
Use Slots 1+5, force their IRQ in the BIOS, connect via STDM. Remember to reinstall the drivers/software after physically moving the cards around."

The question is which driver/software have to be reinstalled ? Because i moved the cards (pulsar1 and scope srb) and everything seems to be working properly without any driver/software reinstallation (on W98).

If the cards detect the drivers you don't have to reinstall them.
