This is just for those that are having trouble with the Mac version of the Pulsar software.

For months I was only able to run Pulsar software 2.01 on my G3/500 running MacOS 9.1.

The first advice I got from Creamware was to downgrade back to Mac OS 9.04 as it was reported that *some* Mac-Users were having trouble after updating. I decided at first I would do a clean install of Pulsar on a fresh 9.1 system... this didn't work... Eventually I had to bite the bullet and go back to Mac OS 9.04.

*The following I worked out for myself*

1. Get rid of Action Utilities if you're using it or disable it in your start-up set.

2. Get rid of StartupDoubler if you're using it.

3. Don't index the drive that the Pulsar software is on.

I've now been able to run Pulsar 2.041 on this system flawlessly without a single crash so far. Hope it helps someone who is stuck using 2.01

I was hoping someone would fill in the Mac gaps. Thanks!

I'm not a Mac user but Tim from pulsar-scope sent a few tips which could help other people. He's a valuable resource on the list for Mac users (Am I saying this? Heh hey Tim)

Here's what he says:<i>

1) The space issue is not fixed in 2.01 or 2.04. The earliest version of pulsar
I have is 2.01 and the problem is there. If you have a space as the first
character in your hard drive name, you can't get to devices inside the Pulsar
environment. Once you leave a particular directory, the APP WILL NOT READ ANY
OTHER DIRECTORIES, so you can't load any devices.

2) Also, changing your hard drive name AFTER pulsar is installed makes the
Pulsar app lose sight of your hard drive. I attribute this to the cset.ini
file, which should be a prefs file under macOS. It also gives you that warning
about not being able to initialize the hardware.

I imagine this should be fixed with the new versions, so this hopefully only pertains to Macs running PulsarOS 2.04 or lower.

Hmm... strange, I have only used pulsar on MacOS 9.1.
It works astonishingly good! Even My delta 66 was more buggy.
