I believe a package of this calibre should be able to at least come close to matching the VU response of a pro mixing desk, for example. So far, SFP pales in comparison.
Just to state the obvious: SFP is not a pro mixing desk, IMO it's much more, so it has a lot more work to do than a mixing desk. I'm sure they could make the VU meters faster if SFP was only coded for mixing, but it isn't.
And to be honest, the VU meters seem to be pretty accurate anyway, and definitely faster than on older pulsar versions.
So is it just the VU meters or are there any other noticable slowdowns for you?

btw. I have a pretty old ATI Rage 128 (or something like that) videocard.

And before I got Samplitude, I didn't realise how low VU-meters measure compared to peak-meters

King of Snake - Actually the metering problem certainly isn't critical, and I agree that it has improved a great deal since SFP came out. I guess I'm just used to the metering on HW devices, which I'm sure you'd agree is a lot more responsive. The biggest problem I have is accuracy of the controls. Even when I assign MIDI controllers to them the response is often sluggish. Do you experience that too?

BTW, what garyb is trying to tell us is that the meters on the SFP mixers are in fact peak meters, not VU. My mistake for using the wrong terminology in a moment of delirium... Sue me... Whip me... Beat me...
