I just have to share my midnight frustration and you guys were right in the way...my brand new DDX-3216 mixer seem to have blown one or two critical components and is now showing all its multicolored led meters although nothing is connected to the inputs.

I see weeks of sending emails, phone calls, posting packages, sending even more emails and celebrating christmas before I get back in business again.

It just sucks.

OH Man :eek:...I know your feelings I had to go through the same nightmare to fix my Tascam Mixer. The worst part of all was that the replacement parts I had to order were bougth by using the email..yes.. and email with my credit card number! can you beleive it??, they don't have a SSL server for those matters.

Do you have any idea why..??. .I mean do you recall the moment when all this started to happen??

How new is it?

You were unable to get it from a local dealer?

I bought a digital mixer and after about 10 days I realised there were factory problems with it (very intermittent random clicks and pops would occur though not very often). Went back to the dealer who started crapping on about weeks needed to send it off to get looked at and fixed etc and I said that I wanted a brand new mixer shipped within a week as I had a deadline to meet and I hadn't had it long. I recieved a new one in 3 days.

yes, if it's business,they SHOULD accommodate you.especially when it's bad out of the box.your dealer should speak up for you with the manufacturer.if all else fails,take your case to the sales rep for that company.if you cannot get the rep thru your dealer you could contact the company and ask for the rep in your area.going up the chain of command like that works wonders.....

Well, it wasn't bad out of the box - I've been able to use it around 20-30h before it went down without any reason.

I did buy it from a local music store - a pretty renowned one here in Stockholm. I assume they will help me in sorting this out. However, all my experiences from high-tech hardware support is that the product most definitely will have to go back to the maker. And then, in 9 out 10 cases, it will become silent for some time before I send the first mail wondering how my product is coming along in the resurrection process...

Well, I shouldn't really be too pessimistic just yet. I've got an email sent out to Behringer and I'm gonna contact the music store whenever they open up.

Now it's time for me to get to work.

If it broke after only 20-30hrs, then that to me sounds like a manufacturing fault and therefore "bad out of the box". I think you would be well within your rights to claim it as such and get them to ship a new one out to you.

yeah,i don't know how behringer is in europe,but in the usa(being the cheap brand) they don't want to give much help.(as with most companies connected to sam ash,samson for example,a very poor service company,they're kinda slow with repairs)that's why i suggested contacting the distributer's sales rep.he might have a little more at stake,personally.(and he has access to company resources that the dealer does not)

hopefully,the store has more units and they will take charge of the situation b4 any further trouble is necessary.

(tell 'em i said "fix his problem or i'm heading there to fix you". that should make everything AAALLL better! :wink: )
