We have quite a few versions now! How does each release compare? Some people are still using an older version....What are the advantages?

The sort of things that I would want to know about are:
Latency, stability, features, bugs, ease of use, overall.

Marks out of 10?

I'd think the latest version is the best usually. There have been very positive report of the upcoming 3.1c, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Usually!

I would like some user opinions to confirm this.

There is absolutely no question - 3.1c is the best. If the question is there to determine whether to upgrade or not, don't hesitate. Do it now!

Oops - sorry. I don't think this answers your question. I honestly don't know what all the fixes are from version to version but I think there is too much to comment about this. Why don't you simply install it and see for yourself. Or wait a little bit for the full-blown 3.1c which is forthcoming.

The newest "stable" version is always the best - 1.2, 2.04a, 3.01, 3.1c are all very good. Would I run ANYTHING other the latest release version? Nope. Running 3.1a here, will upgrade to 3.1c when it's the final.

I'd say 3.1a too. It's the most stable at the moment. I doubt there's anything in the previous versions that actually would be preferred over 3.1a.

I think the people who are using older versions use it because either most of their projects were made in that version, and they don't have time to convert the projects, or they simply can't risk having abnormalities from a big change in studio gear. I think both are pretty good reasons to stick to what your setup began with. But, if you do have the time, upgrade!

Exactly Ken, this is my case for instance. I'm waiting to finish some work I'm doing to install the newer version of SFP. I'm still with version 3 and is by far the most stable.

Wait till you get the 3.1c or other when you finish your projects, Nestor ;o) As Sub said, every version is better over the previous one, only incompatible and essential devices (for you) or projects to be finished should hold one from updating to the latest.

The incompatible devices list is very small though, and developpers start to release updated versions for most of them (cfr De-vice).

I'm on 3.1c RC2. Again, to anyone on 3.1c RC2: report any bugs, I'm very confident that they will be fixed!
