Logic and Pulsar on Mac OSX

While LogicAudio 5.3 is now available on Mac OS X, is it a chance to see SFP on the same platform ?
Could be nice.

Ouch, Logic OS will drop VST support, it'll focus on Audio Units: http://www.emagic.de/english/news/2002/osx3.html

Logic does't make it easy for Creamware. Another proprietary format. Seems like some serious further pc/mac distinction.

I don't see how this should affect SFP anyway.

As long as CW codes for Core Audio....we should be able to use our cards in Logic just as we did before. And from what I understand...they will have to code for that anyway since ASIO doesn't exist on OSX yet.

I am trying to be optimistic here....because truthfully I have been using Logic OSX all weekend and it totally rocks. I am getting significant performance gains over OS9, and the system is really really REALLY stable. I have had ZERO crashes so far.

Logic is really working great, so I hope that CW will support....otherwise....I may say goodbye to the platform......

Sorry, but since CW doesn't give a sequencing and recording option I feel comfortable with.....and....

I was a Mac lover before I was a Pulsarian.....

Kamurah, I don't think you'd have to be afraid of loosing CW support for mac. XTC is not available on mac anyways, maybe CW did know in advance and did not invest in that. Who knows what other direction may be taken now that Logic has made clear their future path.

The Emagic page does mention some developping/conversion tool for VST/VSTi, freely available. I hope it will be something that's really easy and quick in use.

There will be no more VST support, so what? Each major programmer had to write 2 VST versions anyways before, one for pc and one for mac. No they'll just have to write a Audio Thing version instead of VST mac...

it's just the arrogance of the forced obsolesence...apple sez think different and then they are so typically corporate.expensive too!all this requires new purchases of everything.this is how false economies are kept propped up,thru waste.and they act like they're doing a favor, per request........

ah well, rant enough for one day.

(p.s. i'm not that impressed by talk of no crashes,i don't have crashes on win98se...still, mac had BETTER run smoother for that extra cost!)

I do not know enough of Audio Thing(?) to deceide weither it's good or bad. Maybe it really is a superior plugin protocol. If it's only there to be something different, it would suck yes

All this Logic talk is really hard to believe... If I were a Logic user I wouldn´t move to Mac, I would stick to the Windows version as long it is acceptable!

On the other hand I heard some rumors that the "Digidesign" people are really worried about that alliance between Apple and Emagic... Whithin 2 years they will be ready to bring nearly all of their stuff to the Windows platform (according to rumors). That again would lead to more competition, which isn´t so bad.

Man! This on-going episode is beginning to sound like a bad soap opera!

I think that LogicWin still has a whole lotta wind in it.

Sequencing is sequencing and audio is still audio. Heck, as I've stated before, I'm still using a 14y.o sequencer and wouldn't part with it! Rock solid timing, no crashes, low overhead - the entire program fits in one 880K floppy!!! And yes it's an orphanware.

But, if CreamWare's new SCOPE DAW (wiating paitiently here...) comes around, hopefully, that will surely give us a more better option to opt for CW and not rely soley on 3rd parties anymore... And, if this new DAW has the "STUFF", then, we would care less about which OS platform to use so long as it's SCOPE Fusion Platform...

Even a basic one to start with will do!
