Has anyone out there tried Timeworks Vintage EQ ?......I'm very interested to know whether it's worth the investment as there seems to be no demo available

Besides the horrible (IMHO) interface, this is a great EQ...

It's my favourite digtal EQ, on any DAW system or mixer. To me it's the one that behaves most "analog-like"...

Sonic Timeworks really do have a talent for making things sound analog... Dropping in one of their plugs always seems to contribute something positive to the sound... Although I have the whole package, I use the "hardknee limiter" and the "Vintage EQ" most of the times... The Vintage EQ is really high-end and a lot more euphoric than let´s say a Neve-EQ and I´ve tried many others! But I must agree, the UI really could be improved and I´m no fan of their reverb. But the thing I find so special about this EQ is that it has the precision of a digital EQ whith the sound of an analog one...

Regards,
Bernhard

It can be inserted in any insert slot, Bigmixer works with 2 mono inserts for one (cooupled) stereo bus though.

The Vintage EQ is only told to have midi remote problems, but it's the best allround EQ. Sometimes I use Celmo's EQ's for more expressive EQ'ing. Celmo's EQ is kinda coloured/overdriven/warmer, STW's EQ seems more transparant.
