do you have use the triggers?
how is the dynamic and the accuracy of the triggering?? i plan to build the trigger myself with piezo transducer... did you ever tried this?

the sounds... are their suitable for hard rock/heavy metal? are their realistic? (do you have an excerpt or an mp3 example to let me hear how it plays?)

and finally... what, according to you, what are the advantages of using such a drum module instead a good bounce of samples in STS series or in another software sampler??

all these because i've found a used D4 ata very good price!

thanks!!!

I've used all sorts of triggers and it works fine' for a 10 year old machine.
The piezos should work.

I remember when d4 first came out they did an update of some kind to make the triggers work better - mine missed out, works anyway - but I'm not seriously into playing triggers for a whole kit. We used it for extra snares and such.

There's 100 kicks, 100 snares etc. You could use it for metal/hard rock, it's chunky enough.

It's just handy to have around, doesn't use processor power, drink my beer or smoke my stash

i had one too. i liked it a lot, only the tuning part was a bit weak (4 up, 3 down) and no sound expansion possible (if i remember well)
but as a standard 'live' drum module, it will more than likely do the job...
