I noticed when I use the gigapiano in mono it sounds muffled in the same way. I don't understand why. Can someone explain this to me?

It's suppose it's the miniscule phase difference in the highe end that's cancelling itself out when played in mono.. or something. Just a guess, but it's possible.

I thought it might have something to do with phase alignment.

Actually, I have phase problems when I use my Bosendorfer samples in stereo, so I use them in mono and the result is really better, especially in a mix. Slight differents in phase make the stereo samples move through the stereo field. I will pan the mono samples though, to distribute them evenly across the field.
