The ruling elites of the Replublic party - chased by the Tea Party radicalists - created it's own monster of Frankenstein, after 15 years of hate campaign and devastating political obstruction.
In the meanwhile they forgot about the ordinary interests of the hillbillies of Appalachia and elsewhere in the country side.
The new generation has worse opportunities than their parents, and like in Europe the ordinary people then switch to populists and nationalists.

The good thing is, maybe the proces will be the start of a change in the corroded political system of the US.
An independent populist and even a socialist doing a quite succesful campaign in the US is already a wonder on it's own.

Anyway, IF Trump as president could bring back the one man one vote principle he would do something good.
