Hi all,
I've finally started to set up some programs for my Pulsar/Scope card so that I can use my Control Freak to control the parameters and I'm using the Editor program to do it.
Has anyone used this before?
I have no problem dumping programs from the control freak into the computer, but I'm having no luck dumping programs from the computer editor to the Control Freak itself.
I select midiport 1 as an output from The Editor and I've attached a midi monitor to the Sequencer Midi Source 1 and there is no activity whatsoever when I hit the send key.
Has anyone got this program working in SFP and if so, could you let me know where I'm going wrong here?
Anyone using Virtual Control Freak with SFP

I got the control freak live (same as SE but 16 knobs instead of 16 faders) Same os etc...
And, well, the confreak editor is crap for me, as i cannot use it (the revision version is not recognise). So i used SoundDiver, at least it work. But there is no real editor done, just the program banks can be managed. I could program the editor is sounddiver, i just didn't take the time yet. Should be hard
So if you feel like doing it, don't hesitate, i'm sure it better, and it also integrate in Logic.
For the faders, i made myself the midibox Plus from http://www.ucapps.de, and i found the OS is much better than the kenton's one. ALOT faster to program. The learn function and snap mode is fantastic, no other commercials devices i know of provide those 2 essentials features. I cannot use a control surface without these features now. I fact, i'll probably sell the kenton a do a 2nd midiboxplus with 16 knobs.
Just for fun, Kenton controlfreak live (16knobs) 720$ CAN, Midibox plus (16 faders) 120$, double the features and extensible.
hey hey...
Anyway, kenton still work pretty well with Pulsar, it's just too long to program each faders functions and name, etc... So usualy, i prefer to set CC in SFP according to what's already programmed in Kenton and save them.

Hi Caleb,
I'm not using it in SFP but I have got it working okay in version 3.
I tend to use the software editor only as a backup device and create the controls on the freak itself.
As I haven't got SFP I can't look at your project. One thing I did find though was that although the Freak can control Pulsar, uploading and downloading didn't seem to work if I had Cubase loaded too. I tend just to have the editor on screen with a simple project (which is in the tools forum) and midi cables in and out connected directly to the Freak. It doesn't seem to work (download) unless both cables are connected directly.
If you can send me a screenshot of your project, with cabling details, I'll see what I can come up with, or do you think it is just an SFP hiccup?
By the way, does this mean that "Save with device" is back in SFP version?

Hey Neil,
Yes, the devices have a special preset bank for midi controller set ups. So you can have multiple controller presets saved. Woohoo!
I got further this time. There's little point me sending a picture as it's simple enough. External midi source routed to Sequencer midi destination. Sequencer midi source routed to External midi destination.
And that's in, no sequencer loaded nothing else loaded in the project.
This time I actually got the Control Freak to register midi input. I'm gathering SFP wasn't let me use the Sequencer midi destination module last time for some odd reason. However, although it registers the input and it looks like the data is being sent, it doesn't actually load into Control Freak. *scratches head*
Oh Gawd!!!!
I'm a f#&kwit!!!!
I reread my Control Freak book and I forgot something kinda important - I forgot to set the Global Data Device to 1. Now it works!!!
Yippee!!!

Yeah sure Neil.
I don't actually know the art of doing these things well so it might be really crappy.
I'm just doing multiple programs per synth to cover nearly every control on the synth maybe minus a couple which I don't care about.
This could be a totally stupid way to do these things I don't know.
In this way, I have 3 programs to cover the Miniscope MK II.
But whatever I do put together you're welcome to.

Hmmm. Well I don't have too many problems. I'm becoming comfortable with the new way of working.
I've had some crashes but they've been specific to MasterVerb Pro and VDAT - neither of which will probably bother you.
Some devices don't seem to work well or at all, but they weren't devices I cried to miss. I think Goofy was one of them but I don't use that. And maybe that wasn't a 3.1 thing.
I don't know really. It seems OK to me - all my previous projects were loaded in without a problem.
Sometimes my midi signal from a Midi Sequencer Source module has just stopped completely which has been very frustrating. I think I've had to restart Scope or reboot to fix it, but that hasn't happened very often.
If I've been using the computer for several hours the computer won't actually shut down properly and I have to hit the reset button and go through a reboot just so that I can shut down the computer properly - but that happened reasonably often before I upgraded to 3.1 anyway.
So *shrugs* from me I'm afraid Neil. However, I certainly don't really feel like I've suffered from the upgrade and because I had a Scope card I got a whole heap of new toys to play with as well. Marvy!
