I really like the sound of the A16 Ultra.
I now have a Spirit 328, Yamaha 03d, Fostex VM200, and Korg 168RC here for sale-- The AI3 is already gone. Anyone need a digital mixer?

aha... I see that the Z-link interface is not standard on the P2 boards --I was not aware of this. This makes the A16U a little less flexible than I thought. I'm not really into the notion of paying $300 for another proprietary interface format. hrrmm...
Incindentally, I'm looking to add to the number of IOs my 328 offers...
other comments onthis unit?

Yes, however if you want 24bit 96 Khz you need 2 x Z-links. Adat is only 24bit 48Khz

Two 48kHz ADAT channels can be multiplexed together as one 96kHz channel using S-Mux.

BTW, I'm also in the market for an AD with ADAT but don't need the DA.
I'm loath to pay for functionality I won't need.

I've been looking at Swissonic. The quality appears to be excellent but price per port it much higher that Creamware.
It's a shame CW don't do an 8-port AD only version of A16 at around half the price. I think there'd be a lot of takers.

They should do a 32 channel A-D version (no D-A) of the A16 at the same price
that would rock!
Oh, and a ADAT->spdif detangler so we can plug in multiple spdif boxes
