Well, the subject basicly covers my question: Will the Classic IO-plate of my existing Pulsar2 fit on my newly ordered Scope SRB? Why would I want to do that? Well not really sure, but as the Scope SRB contains 15 DSP's I want it to be board 0. Hence I want the SRB to be the main PCI master (all additional boards communicate through the special bus and not through the PCI bus, don't they?).
So the matter is about degrading my Pulsar2 to a Pulsar SRB (or XTC) and upgrade my Scope SRB to be a Scope with IO.
Curious of your responses
Rob
You will have to send your serial numbers off to support@creamware.de - Germany - to check that the IO plate is compatible. There are different revisions, some which you can't swap out.
You should be fine, btw, with the Pulsar2 as board0, and would be better off this way, unless your SCOPE/SRB is a "SCOPE2" SRB, then your swap may be a good thing.
Thanks sub and jup for the replies I will follow your wise advise, jupiter, and get some music out of the gear.
Btw the scope is (will be) the board offered with the optimaster. Creamware told me it would take a few weeks before the board would be delivered because they were generating a new batch. Still, that information doesn't give me a clue on what kind of scope the board will be. Sub?
It is my understanding that the boards are regular Scope SRB boards, but just in a special bundle packaging with the Optimast plug. That would be why they have to "generate" new stock.
I say this because I have the exact same board on order and that is what my dealer told me......I have no inside knowledge to either prove or disprove this theory. I asked because I was wondering if he could just send me a SRB he had in stock (I don't really give a hoot about the plug in...I just wanted the SRB)....and he said "no".
