DAS free tape plugin help

Hi. If anyone feel like being geeky, could you/they please check out the free DAS tape plugin?
-I'm specially fond of setting 2 (i think it was) and turning the bias up a bit. What actually happens to the sound when processed?
I don't have a scope card anymore but I'm really missing this plugin and it would be great if someone could analyze it and see what is going on with the signal.
From memory it did a hi freq boost and a bit of compression.
