a. The video is blurred and i don't see the values

b. Here smexoscope works as it should. 0dB is 0dB.

Perhaps you have a broken version.

don't you hear the audio, have you seen the master meter of reaper?

+12 dB without clicks or crackles, this was the reason for this video, because you said that over zero dB we get always clicks.

p.s. the video is 720p, i can see enough to read db values, the oscilloscope is just to see the sine becoming a square.

Look my friend i have talked about that in my previous posts. You are experiencing reaper mixing engine (64 or 128bit i'm not sure).

If you render that +12dB sound to a wave file it gets clipped or it's mapped.

It's just there to help you.
0dB is the maximum amplitude signal output of reaper.

As you see my full scale oscillator in reaper is represended as a full scale oscillator.
If you render that you get what you provided. If you boost it or mix it with something else it gets clipped. If you don't hear the clipping it will be there at the render time or it will be mapped to the output file bit length.

During mixing we are in the fantasy world the floating numbers create. Outside that world, in reality, we need 0dB files max peak files.

I don't know, i don't use reaper for audio because i believe it messes with my sound. I use wavelab.

interesting I always thought that the db reference was useless when dealing with signals internally but going above the 0db threshold would cause clipping at the DAC stage. I imagine that your example rendered file would be fine as long as it stayed in the digital domain.

also the oscilloscope just showing its inherent flaw in that it can't represent a signal that has been recorded higher than 0db but this does not mean that the signal would clip when played internally
