bit depth measurment

Post by ARCADIOS »

How can I measure the spdif bit depth output, of my Soundcraft M8 mixer?
Some specs say 44.1 - 16bit and some other 44.1 - 24bit. Manual says only the Sample rate(44.1)

I would like to match it with scopes asios. So I must see if it is 24 or 16bit.

Is there a software or scope module available?

try recording a clean sine wave over spdif and analyze the waveform and the frequency to see if it adds harmonics artifacts and to see if the waveform is stepped.

even if the mixer is 16bit, using 24bit drivers won't hurt anything.
