Keep On [Master Clock]

Post by jksuperstar »

A rough sketch arrangement and mix, no mastering, and now I'm realizing some automation on verb sends got in that maybe shouldn't have.

But, I've been having fun listening to the various music postings, rather than endless discussion about making music ;) So I thought I'd start to give back.

This song is intended to be laid back, polyrhythmic at times, and slightly off beat. Transitions are a work in progress.

The drums and some synths are out of a Radikal Spectralis, with the real deep one picked out of a loop and reversed in the DAW. Snares where messed with in the box (Ableton Live) via pitch and an LFO'd delay (very small amounts) to get rid of the machine feel from sequencing. The organ-like sounds are actually from a Korg X50. Other instruments are a DSI Evolver, hi-hat accents via Korg Electribe, Bass, and Guitar loops.

Right now, many effects are in Ableton on AUX buses for portability between us while working. For final, I'll port those aux FX into SCOPE, and do the mix (with EQ!) and mastering in there as well.

Title fits the music very well, good interweaving of textures. Clockwork but fluid as well.

Very good, I enjoyed that!
Good character to the music...
Not because it is easy, but because it is hard...
