Re: Connecting XITE to Scope PCI
I use Fostex VC-8 analog -> ADAT converter for my old skool synths. This is a bottleneck since it does do 44.1 internally and 48 only when clocked from outside but outside clocking does not work with outbound ADAT connections only. Maybe word clock sync from XITE might work but I did not try it.
Steinberg MR816 does ADAT and analog, has internal clock of 48kHz and as a lucky bastard I happened to have a friend who has one he does not need! It has only 1 ADAT output but I managed to utilize all possible XITE inputs and gave up extra outputs of my Kurzweil so I have all instruments now hooked to the system and all is 48KHz and I have an option of going tp 96kHz if I get another MR816.
Maybe next I will try to make the actual music.

In this setup I make it more clear.
We use MADI so if you cant buy the RME thats on pic 1
you might want to buy Ferrofish
only two ADAT to MADI,
for not much money.
We havnt started with 96KHZ yet.
We have VDAT on a three dsp card learning how its working now.
There we will record in 96 KHZ.
Its on our recording computer.
Since we are mainly live , it seems far away to organice it ,with dsp in our PCI right now.
And for live use , its not usefull for us now ,since ADAT is riding on the speed of light.
Going into MADI we get 1 ms when using 48 KHZ the same as when using 96 KHZ in ASIO.
We are still going to do it soon here if the schedule give the permition to us.
Which is unlikly so ,because we need to record a lot.
Its more like the question why we keep asking ourselves.
I have the answere to that but I dont want to ask myself.
pic 2 is our PCI , and ADAT 5 and 6 is still not in use.
It looks like we have only two STM cables , but there is three spread out on 1 , 3 , 5 .
One is out of sight , sorry.
