Just the first half the chorus, but went through and did some studies. Added a bit of explanation via narration. Hope it's useful. Disclaimer is this is just my thought process and my approach so it's definitely not the end all.

Dude, that's a pretty cool groove you got going there. Enough to inspire me to remix sometime.

Only problem is I cant hear your voice-over with the background mixed to that level. Maybe send the voiceover as a separate stem or mix it higher ?

I guess this could be an R&B remix. I can already key Neo-Keys Rhodes on it w/ Jaco bass.

I reckon you got a good voice too would like to hear you on a lead vocal sometime.

sure, I'll record it again or something. I didn't have my mic pre set up so just used notebook mics and it sucked a little too much. I'm not saying too much. It's hard with these things because a lot can be said about a very short phrase..

I can lay vocals.. I'm not bad, but not a horribly good lead. I've done a lot of chorus work tho. A lot of times I'll do lead and chorus and hand it over to the vocalist so it's definitely a skill I picked up out of necessity. The vocalist usually nails the lead, but some just aren't good at chorus, and so I just use mine to fill in parts they couldn't get right in time. It's a good backup plan for when things get ugly. Of course, it totally sucks when it's a female lead... then I can't use mine, and have to find an emergency backup vocalist to do chorus.. So with females I usually don't work with female vocalists who's chorus I can't save with melodyne.

Anyway I like the groove, so intend doing a remix with it, so you'll be on the credits.

Heres sorta what I had in mind, what u think with the Neokeys and Jaco bassline dubbed on your mix ?

I kinda like the walking bass riff instead off the off-beat dance bass - its maybe a bit funkier.

ah, I see. I like this progression too. Bass groove is sort of there, I think it can be stronger with more contrast of when you're on beat and when you're not. The progression also needs to be edited a bit to accommodate the melody variation on the 2nd repeat. (because the melody goes over an avoid note on the F on A) But anyway, it's just good to think twice about these things. There's what works, and then there's what's best.

Sometimes it matches your melody accents, sometimes not. I couldn't quite make out exact position of your bass accents, so will wait for a MIDI
