Advice help IT whizz

Hi,

I've been tinkering with one of the PC's and generally its getting pretty well organises but I've made a mistake and I don't know how to rectify it.

Cubase Elements 6, one of the apps I've got has been un-installed but its not worked correctly (used an uninstall utility third party) sure it's not on the system but I can't install it again.

The elicenser control centre is missing a file synasusb.sys and or synsoacc.dll - I've mailed Steinberg but heard nothing yet.

The PC needs some tweaking but its above my head completely. All other programs are working etc....just this issue.....

By mistake I did drag something into the cmd prompt something to do with the e-licenser program that Steinberg use.

I know this is off topic for this forum and apologise but some of you folks know your stuff and I need some help with this without wrecking anything else.

Part of this problem is sorted....

There is an error regarding a missing file_

:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\synasusb_9734A53CB716DCDDF215754500120D58E09F22E4

Something to do with the USB licenser-a missing file I presume after my mistake.....aghhh........

Has anyone got a pointer......

you need to go into regedit

and delete all references to the stienberg programs including the elicencer

as you have deleted the program but the program has left the registry with some of the elicencer data

and this stops the program from reloading it

also did you also

uninstall the elicencer as this is a seperate program and you would need to uninstall the elicencer program also

Some of the problem has been resolved-weird out of the blue Cubase Elements 6 just installed...... ........for a moment all was restored-but then I took one of the e-licensers out as its not meant to be in that PC (choice)-----then its back to to the missing file for the other e-licenser-

Reg edit- i may have heard of this but how to do it mmm ----don't know----is this via the command prompt?

I'm not good at this stuff but may have to learn a little - please say bout reg edit with some ez follow instructions please---fried brain,,,

just googled it.....type "reg edit" then "OK" the black window appeared then disappeared almost instantly

OK thanks that gives a better mental picture of whats going on-I'll need to uninstall the programs in question-

be very careful with regedit. if you are not, you will be reinstalling everything soon.

regedit is one word.

Yes OK I've read to be careful with re registry if you don't know what your doing---and I don't,,,,,,

I spoke to an IT guy today locally and its best if I meet with him / others that work with PC's all day long fixing them----it needs some tlc to get back 100% so I'll leave regedit alone.....

Gonna arrange an appointment take pc down and play it safe get a health check-----and a clone while I'm at it........best all round

On a different not Gary the Auralex temp. tabs have been shipped so they'll be here very soon......
