Ok, I can't say that I've pushed a project to 100% yet, which is where I usually hit problems. BUT...

I did some preliminary testing with SFP and I was able to max out my old Pulsar1 with 4 Masterverbs and several asio channels.

I've also done several projects with Nuendo and multiple ASIO channels, synths, automation etc (stuff that had problems with 3.01) and it seems that SFP is MUCH more stable for dual systems than any previous version (at least for me).

I'll post back this weekend when the current project I'm working on gets close to being finished (ie, hits critical mass) but I'm curious if there are any other dual cpu users out there using SFP and what your experiences are so far...

Working even better than before, so far no CPV popups at all... they did concentrate on PC duals on this update, and I think it shows. Glad it's going well so far. Keep us updated with your results -- it's great here on Tyan Tiger MP (AMD760MP chipset) with Luna, although 3 DSPs isn't a huge amount.

No CPV yet, real nice  But i do need new regkeys for STW, seems CW changed some about that.

Got someother (minor) problems, which I believe are not related to dual CPU.

I'm just happy as a clam that they seem to have fixed some things for us dual users. If only I wasn't getting ASIO overflow errors in logic 5.01 when my mate comes over (he uses only that religiously and trying to get him to let me work in Nuendo is rather pointless, trust me =] ). If anyone knows how to fix these overflows, I'd be happy to know. Since I don't own logic myself I can only work with it the few hours that he is here on weekends, which doesn't allow much time for troubleshooting (i use ASIO-2 24 bit modules btw).

Other than that, I'm looking forward to making music this weekened for the first time in I can't remember how long. I'll let you know when I hit a brick wall again =]

I'm assuming you've tried all the obvious things like raising ULLI to the highest it will go ie 23ms. I'm assuming you also have optimisation for background tasks enabled.
In logic try clicking larger process buffer and or disk buffer.
I don't know if this is the case in your version, but v5.01 the readme says that it is not yet optimised for duals maybe you are expecting too much of the system?
I dunno if the update fixes this.

I know these are obvious tips, sorry if its not much help

Background tasks, ulli doesn't make a diff between highest & next highest setting, larger process/disk buffer etc didn't stop it entirely. And yea, I'm well aware that logic doesn't utilize 2 cpu's on PC (apparently it does for mac now, I signed up to the LUG a while back). Not a big deal anyway, we just render stuff out that he's done in logic to wav and I track it in Nuendo. I think he's just annoyed we can't stay in his "superior interface" or sommat.

Thanks btw =]

Also, I just made it through an entire weekend with only 2 errors on my dual xeon box, and both were of the "DSP limit reached, would you like to optimize?" sort.

Looks like it's FINALLY time to upgrade this Pulsar 1!

Oh btw, I was using 24bit ASIO-2 modules, only 2 Masterverb Classics, some eq & compression on the 2448 and one of the smaller hummel synth variations.

Looks like SFP-1 is a go for dual platforms, at least for the i860. Now I just need to add more DSP and really test this puppy out =]]

I'd say with WinXP PRo, dual ACPI mode, and SFP3.1 on Tyan Tiger MP rev1.03 (AMD760MP chipset), it's a go as well. No problems at all related to the dual so far!

Hi, why wouldn't it?

I had a Pulsar1+Luna2 in the dual AMD for testing for awhile.

This has everything to do with the motherboard, very little to do with which specific CW board you choose to use...

So if i got get the board you mentioned, i won't get PCI overflow right and no CPyright protection errors?

Could you lis exactly what you system is configered? I would like to build a new PC within one or two month.

It would be really helpful if you can tell me a system that can work reasonablely stable. Thank you.
