Hi! I have read a lot of interesting posts on mastering here and I'm thinking of purchasing the Creamware products Optimaster and Graph EQs. But before my final decision I would like to know a couple of things: First of all will they run properly with my Pulsar v.1.02 which has only four DSP's? And secondly what will I get in terms of loudness and sound quality when compared to free VST mastering plugins? So far I have used Cool Edit Pro with Waves plugins. I'm recording hardrock songs with a basic two guitars, bass and drums lineup.

I have graphEQ on pulsar 1, it takes up about 1dsp's worth, according to the manual on a pulsar 2 it is possible to load 4 instances of optimaster, that roughly equates to two thirds of a dsp.
You should be able to load both at the same time, but it would be a little inflexible.

by v1.02 - you mean hardware version right? [I hope that you are using newer software than that!] I think you need OS 3.x to run the newer plugs, and that board should be fine regarding DSP power [don't expect to run a whole lot else though]

Yes, the hardware version is 1.02. I have the latest software. It's good to know that my DSP power will be enough for the mentioned mastering tools. Thanks for the info!
