Bi or Quad processor PC for Scope / Xite ?

Hi,
Not that I am going to get one, but I wanted to know if anyone ever tried building a bi or quad xeon PC for DAW, including Scope pci or xite.
I've read reviews from Cubase users very happy with quad processor configurations, to run lots of vsti.

Or does scope-pci / xite have problems with such configurations ? (hyper threading etc ???).

My 4 core i7 sandy bridge seems fine alongside ableton. I think it is helpful to run the main daw program on the same core as scope, then let the daw use the other cores for vsts and tracks as it sees fit. I'm not sure why this, as I'd expect the asio drivers to do the communications, not the scope program.

I also like 4 cores over two due to the ability to run Max/msp, which gives me OSC control. Not something many would need, I'm guessing.

you have 4 i7 in a computer ? (i thought only xeon were possible).

all i series cpus are 4 core, i3, i5, i7 and XEON. dual core would be a socket 775 core2 duo.

it doesn't matter, 2 or 4 core, all should work. the main thing is that if you are using pci cards, do NOT buy a socket 1155 motherboard. opt for a socket 1156, or even better a socket 775 motherboard. neither are the latest, but the available processorsd should be powerful enough to do whatever you need to do.

like a setup with 4 i7 inside it, instead of one (= 16 cores

i built a dual XEON(i7) machine that worked well.
such overkill.....

that's a lot of synths/samplers to stack
but it's because i did some image/3d stuff recently that i got interested by the subject... in this area, there is no limit as to the number of core one would like to use in a render node....

real time or offline rendering? i did some 3D studio stuff a while back, and having networked nodes added as much to the render power as multicore and multiple cpus. it just uploaded the textures to each render node, which on a GB ethernet takes no time!

i am rendering an animation in Vue... i takes ages... My i7 can manage 100 frame in 6/7 hours, while it take more than 24 hours for my core2duo to do the same.... and it is very basic rendering of a 360p animation... i seen that there are company doing the renderfarm but it can be expensive too....

i got a core2 machine for $100 off of ebay. actually, i bought two for that price.

it really might be cheaper and more practical to build a farm rather than an UBER machine.
