yes, but with 16I/O in 1U - if you have a real modular synth which i happen to have things become like a disney wonderland for musicians, think of recording the snappy envelopes of your modular synth into your daw and use them with modular IV, or if you had a nice filter modulation arranged just record the CV controlling the filter to your daw and use it in scope, there are so numerous things one could achieve, what I like most about this cv is that I dont have to mess around with midi anymore, if I wanna do a nice pitchbend trick on some notes I just make a fade to the beginning of the audiofile containing the CV for the oscillator, sounds complicated, but midi is so limited for nasty tricks

Could you not control Scope Modular IV directly with the CV ( without recording it in DAW first ) ?

sure you can, but I would always record it too for later total recall, or later editing of cv audio files

cool, so it could work live as well as record/editing.

But instead of modifying the A16, why not building a 1 U rack converter which is used to convert audio to CV and CV to audio ?

Actually an expertsleepers combining 2 x ES1 units + 8 x ES2 units in a 1U rack would do the job to convert 16 audio I/O to 16 CV I/O but I think the Modular is limited to 8 I/O and you probably need to spare 1 out for the audio result (or you could just use the scope modular as signal controller to achieve some presets on a true hardware modular.
