Cases to house Scope Pro cards?

Hi all

Can anyone recommend any cases that would fit 2 scope pro's?

I did measure mine on sunday but no longer have my current PC in my posession (long story :( ) and cant remember the length - think it was either 31cm or 34 cm?

OK - Ive made some enquiries with Scan.co.uk over the phone explaining that I need to house a card (or 2) 34cm long.

They recommended the following:

Xigmatek Elysium
Coolermaster HAF X
Coolermaster ATCS840

Frankly, the Elysium and HAF X look horrible to my eyes but I quite like the ATCS840. The only thing is, when I've looked on the Coolermaster website, the specs for it says it can house cards up to 302mm in length! This contradicts what scan advised when I spoke to them. There are a couple of HDD fans that can probably be removed which would give a bit more room enabling a 31cm card but probably not a 34cm card.

Like I said in my previous post, I cant remember (due to an extremely stressful time since I took the measurement :cry: ) whether the pro cards are 31cm long or 34cm long. Can anyone confirm? I did try to find this information before I opened my case and measured them but couldnt so if anyone can confirm I would be most grateful.

I have 2 scope pro and a pulsar pro in a tiny (and quite cheap, if you can find one) LIAN LI PC-A05b with the bottom drive cage taken out.

the cards are 31 cm in lenghts, just measured without pressure :D
(also had to take out the bottom drivecage on a Coolermaster, seems a common procedure...)

Thanks for the measurement Astro and also the case suggestion Neutron. That Lian does look nice but I think im gonna go with the CoolerMaster ATC if the card is 31cm long.

Roll on this time next week when I should finally have everything to start building :D

Can anyone comment on the "sound proofing" of the "coolmasters" ?


I am in kindof a "bedroom studio" scenario ... and ...well .... I guess the street noise is WAY louder than fan noises and stuff .... but still My OLD pc used to make alot of noise from the fans ....


Do you think the CoolMasters are the best "Soundwise" (I don't really overclock .... but I do hope for 33DSPs (2 Pulsars and 1 Luna ) - or maybe I will also revive my old Lappy and start to Batch-Export / re-MIX my oldie tracks .... (That would blow my mind .... ;)

new clean case fans, a clean cpu fan and a new quiet power supply will do the most. the harddrives can be noisy, but if they're only a year or two old, they're probably quiet ones. it shouldn't be too bad, as long as you don't put a mic right by it. the acoustics of the room will mess you up worse than the volume of the machine's noise.

you could vent a closet with a quiet fan to the outside and put the machine in the closet, too(close the door).

there are very long usb and ps/2 cable extentions available and there are even extender boxes that use cat5 cables that allow usb, midi, and keyboard and mouse to be 30 meters and more. then you could have the computer in another room. i mean, if you're going to fix the acoustics in the room that's a studio...

listen yourself, a dynamic Mic with 76 dB gain about 1m from the PC and me clicking the mouse :D
Dualcore E8400 3ghz, CPU fan Scythe Samurai, HD is a WD green 760 or so...
it's a Maxdata case - the Coolermaster would be even less 'noisy'.

In any case (No pun intended) ... It's only a "listening problem" ... no problems recording ...


Oh ... and I think the flat I'm renting has a F@#$ed Grounding .... (Electric "earthing" ... U know ... ;)

I remember getting a Cracked version of FruityLoops back in the Day .... (Hallucinated that Izobel = Bjork and stuff like that ...)


Later on I bought it (Mostly for the support and a bit for the "Inherent bugs" ... oh ... and the Lifetime free upgrades ... which turned out to be ... well .. obsolete .... ;)



(I bought Fruity ... and Cubase5 .... and I won Ableton for a remix contest @Keisha I think .... My remix is called "Fury" should be on Myspace)

sorry that the file above is a bit ambigous.
It's a microphone recording of the room sound the PC makes, the mouse click is for level reference
(you probably know what an average Logitech mouse sounds like) :D
