Thanks!!
Re: phono pre device for scope?
eq does not open.
i used it with an MM cartridge.
has distortion and the sound seems too thin.

Re: phono pre device for scope?
you wouldn't want to use a phono pre AFTER the AD/DA. the level is way too low to get a good conversion.
hardware phono pres are CHEAP and output line level. even a cheap DJ mixer is better than using a pre after conversion.

Re: phono pre device for scope?
yea you are right.
in that case i would have needed a scope L/R source before A/D convertor. is that possible?

Re: phono pre device for scope?
you just connect the Phono Pre's output to any analog line in (stereo) available in Scope.
I have tried Wolf's device despite all obvious oddities in 'direct mode' and it does in fact work quite well.
At least to a degree I wouldn't have expected.
You can add a lot of 'digital' gain to the 5532 opamps in Scope's input stage, but a 50 bucks 'Phonobox' beats it hands down.
The impedance mismatch is not to underestimate(!). I used a Shure V15III cartridge.
My preferred device is a NAD 1020 (which is a cheap, common preamp 2nd hand) for MM cartridges, sounds a little more detailed than the Phonobox.
With an MC cartridge I'd at least give it one more try (for curiosity sake) with my Telefunken MicPres, as those have tons of gain and deliver a very detailed sound. May be it all ends just in more detailed replay of dirt in the tracks...

Re: phono pre device for scope?
what i have is a sugdenA28II amplifier that i use only the phono stage of it cause the paower section is Broken....
Rega planar 3. RB300 and a cartridge that sucks at the moment...
i gotta get a nice new cartridge... and i will probably buy a Denon DL110 high MC output.
anyway..

Re: phono pre device for scope?
the best for me since i listen always from genelecs1032a is to get a tube phono preamp. that would give me a great sweetness and space i guess....
