New Sputnikk track (sorta dub/electro-ish)

Post by King of Snake »

I'm really not sure what kind of genre this falls in but here goes:

http://soundcloud.com/sputnikk/sputnikk-scarabae

It has some dub influences, and a sort of middle eastern feeling in some of the melodies. And a beat that's made in part from Garageband samples ;) I would be interested to hear how others would describe it :P

I didn't use any SC synths this time, but I did use the plate reverb a bit (had the ambience in there as well but it kept PCI overflowing my project :() and some Vinco, Psy-Q and SBC on the mix.
Sequenced in Ableton Live.

Oh yeah, soundcloud quality leaves a bit to be desired. I'm still tinkering with this track but I'll have a FLAC version up when I'm done.

Me would describe it as good music.
I like the sound that comes in at 1.58 min. makes me hypnotic.

Thanks for the share.

Will FLAC give a better quality when using Soundcloud..?
I liked the choice of sounds, the ducking of the effects and motions from panning.
Pretty cool stuff. thanks..

thanks for the comments!
I meant uploading FLAC directly (on my server), not uploading FLAC to Soundcloud. I'm not sure what would happen if you upload FLAC to Soundcloud. I uploaded an mp3, but I think it compresses it again anyway, degrading the sound.
