I wanted a quick to use fm synth, and to my surprise, there are no 2 op fm synths! I just need 2 osc, one modulating the other. This would be so easy to do in modular, but I think the minimum is 3 op, and the interfaces for fm synths are some of the worse I've ever seen. 6 op? Forget about it! Poison was awesome in this regard.. simple, quick, effective. Too bad my desktop is dead.
I would kill to have a virtual adlib card, or the pre wavetable soundblasters. I know there's a virtual OPM chip vsti but it seems like it's more of a hardcore emulation of the chip itself, rather than a full implementation including presets.. I'm not about to do re make a full GM set with 4op fm.. that'll drive me nuts.
maybe I should just make one in synthedit

I watched Assaf make one using synth edit.
I prefer modular but synthedit is so wasy and the sound isn't that bad.

heh, spent an afternoon and built one. Synthedit's not too bad.. just for some reason when I export it makes the background white, says "demo" (which is fine), and the plugin is huge, like graphically huge! Even though I'm only using a small corner the plugin has a bunch of white space around my interface.. strange.
anyway, I guess I got me a functional 2 op fm with feedback. nice. Will post some sounds later along with dll if anyone wants it.

Yes, thats the ticket.
I am taking Assafs Synthedit class as soon as Scope Modular courses are fininshed.
You have the various elements so it should sound close enough.
I eventually will master making my own stuff so I can quit bothering guys for certain things and doit myself. Especially controller based stuff with OSC and MIDI..
