Scope midi player

Post by Kymeia »

Is there such a thing? Something you could use to drive a ScopeSynth (instead of having to use an ASIO sequencer)

Yamaha QY700, the fiercest hardware sequencer known to mankind, period,.

Everyone else stoped their hardware designs back in the mid nineties, and Yamaha stopped a few years later. But their expertise and knowledge has no equal in stable, hardware designs.

They made the very first, and the last.

Thanks - yes I know of potential software and hardware solutions (my VSynth even has a rudimentary sequencer built in though I'm not sure if it canload/play midi) but I was ideally looking for a Scope device for this purpose - it's a bit strange there isn't one.

well, even if I repeat myself for the 150th time...
it is (and remains) nonsense or a waste of resources to process 'midi' which is nothing else but logic-fiddling-within-an-8-bit-data-stream on a DSP.
I bet the thing Scope4Live posted above has some Z80 CPU running at 10 MHZ and it will outperform any software/dsp setup in the domain of midi - using not even 10% of the processing 'power' ;)

cheers, Tom

you can't develop a platform like Scope and a midi sequencer...

Yes but I really want something simple I can just load inside Scope rather than load an external programme and wire it in - just a player - doesn't need sequencing

Thanks - that's a bit more than I need but if it will just load and play midi files that's enough for me
