after changing the xp mode to standard pc (from ACPI) the Pulsar driver simply wont work. (Error code 39) I suspect it has something to do with pci slot (it's slot 1)
or pci channel (2) or IRQ #.
What should I look for in ordr to make my Pulsar Driver fit again?
Pulsar 3 + Win XP = PCI IRQ Helll ???
Did you already find the Optimize your Win2k/XP thread?
Turn Plug and Play to NO in the BIOS, use PIC instead if APIC if you have the choice, and install XP in Standard Mode.
Install your XP driver for Pulsar, I do this by going to Control Panel, selecting "Classic View" for Control Panel, and selecting Add new Hardware, with the Pulsar PCI card already installed, and the Pulsar 3.01 CD in the drive (or, if you downloaded 3.01, have it extracted). Driver should be found and installed; you can reboot now, or you can install the V3.01 software, and reboot directly after.
