sample rate problem

Post by dishi99 »

hi
i have a scope pro card which i love
yet i seem to have this problem with the sample rate
when windows loads up and i start to play a song the sample rate seems fine on the settings
yet it plays it way fast , then i switch the samplerate from master to slave and back ( i also have a fireface800 connected to the scope by adat) and the mouse cursor keeps blinking from thinking mode to regular mode for a while and settles down
only then i can activate the card normally

ive tried to reinstall the software which solved it for a few days and then it came back, ive also tried to wiggle the computer since i thought it could be a loose connection to the pci card , only later to discover it has nothing to do it since it works the same way if dont wiggle it
i now use the 4.5 version , but i also tried the 5 version , and it worked the same only without the waiting issue

would appreciate help on this issue
thanks and god bless
ofer

ive reinstalled the 5 version and i have the same problem now , when windows starts and i open winamp , its playing the media like its fast forward

the khz on the sample rate is showin but it keeps jumpin from a thinking cursor to a regular one after i move it to slave and back to master
if i move the computer for a while i think it settles down but that also takes more time from time time

anyone ?

The little daughterboard which hosts the i/o needs probably to be taken off and reseated. Its a common problem that can be fixed in 20 mins. You can take out the card then loosen the nylon screws CAREFULLY and pull the small board off.Clean the contacts with alcohol 99% let it dry for a few mins then put everything back together.

i'd try cleaning contacts.

there are two sets of contacts to clean. use 99% or better alcohol or deoxit or stabilant. clean the gold contacts that connect to the motherboard and also clean the contacts on the i/o daughter card. to clean the daughter card's contacts, CAREFULLY remove the 4 nylon screws that hold it on and gently pry it loose. you can then clean the pins.

edit-i see fluxpod beat me to the punch.... :)
