4896 Mixer automation question.

Post by snoopy4ever »

------

Hello everybody.

I have a Tascam FW1884 surface controller, which is able to control any midi device, I was trying to assign midi controls to the 4896 mixer so I can mute/pan/fade etcetc.. however I've found the mixer (and seem all other devices  ) do not accept more than 119 CC's. Is there a way I can get around that?.

Thanks.

Snoopy.

OK I've investigated a bit.. and found a fix on this.

Mixer can be set to accept all midi channels (omni).
each 8 channel group can be set to receive the same CC's BUT different Midi Channel ,
for instance channels 1-8 channel 1, 9-16 channel 2, etc etc.. so I can mute pan disable fade all channels on the mixer. The good part is the fw1884 allows me to program midi that way. :D what a relief.

Regards.

That should be in the Tips & Tricks thread it's so good.
I wonder if the other STM mixers use OMNI like that.
Having MIDI control like that is a blessing.
I use SpaceF Mixers because they have seperate MIDI channels for insert effects, and mixer functions.
MIDI in Scope is so elegant and easy.
